Pipe Connect

PracticeMediumPractice: not ranked
How to play
  • Tap a tile to turn it a quarter turn clockwise. The water from the blue tank fills every pipe it reaches as you play.
  • Connect every tile to the tank with no pipe opening onto nothing: no open ends at the edge or against the side of another tile. The round caps are taps that need water too.
  • A long press (or a right click) locks a tile you are sure of, so a stray tap can’t turn it. Easy grids are 5 × 5, medium 7 × 7 and hard 10 × 10.
  • Fastest time wins; fewer turns break ties. Every grid has one way to connect it.

Practice puzzles are never ranked: they don’t count for leaderboards, streaks, statistics or achievements.

About Pipe Connect

Pipe Connect is a grid of pipe pieces, straights, corners, tees and the odd cross, all turned the wrong way. Tap a tile to turn it a quarter turn and watch the water: it runs from the blue tank through every pipe that is joined up. Connect the whole network, with every opening meeting another and none pointing off the edge, and the puzzle is solved. Each grid has exactly one way to connect it.

How to play Pipe Connect

  1. Tap a tile to turn it a quarter turn clockwise. The water from the blue tank fills every pipe it reaches as you play.
  2. Connect every tile to the tank with no pipe opening onto nothing: no open ends at the edge or against the side of another tile. The round caps are taps that need water too.
  3. A long press (or a right click) locks a tile you are sure of, so a stray tap can’t turn it. Easy grids are 5 × 5, medium 7 × 7 and hard 10 × 10.
  4. Fastest time wins; fewer turns break ties. Every grid has one way to connect it.

Tips & strategy

  • Start at the edges and corners. A pipe can never open onto the border, which fixes many tiles straight away.
  • Round caps are taps at the ends of the network: they need water but only have one opening, so they point back toward a pipe.
  • Straights and tees next to the border have very few ways to sit. Set them first and lock them with a long press.
  • Two caps can never face each other, and the network has no loops, so a tile that would close a circle is turned the wrong way.

Pipe Connect: questions and answers

When is the puzzle solved?

When the water from the tank reaches every tile and no pipe opens onto nothing, at the edge of the grid or against the closed side of another tile.

What does locking a tile do?

A long press, or a right click, locks a tile so taps no longer turn it. It is a reminder for you; long press again to unlock it.

How is Pipe Connect ranked?

By time, fastest first; fewer turns break ties.

What changes with the difficulty?

The size of the grid: 5 × 5 tiles on easy days, 7 × 7 on medium days and 10 × 10 on hard days.
