Foods of the World is a tasty tour from poutine and butter tarts to paella, pho and jollof rice, with questions about ingredients and kitchen words. Greek and Norse Mythology brings gods, heroes and monsters to life, and shows how they gave us the names of planets, months and weekdays. Olympics and Sports covers past Olympic host cities, the rules of popular games and great moments in Canadian sport.

Every quiz serves 10 fresh questions a day, from easy to hard, with a short explanation after each answer. We only ask about settled facts: past Olympic Games rather than future hosts, and dishes whose home is clear rather than recipes that several countries claim. Questions are written for a general audience, so they are fun for families as well as trivia fans.

If you want to do better, notice the clues in each question, such as a language, a place or an era, and use the explanations to build connections. A painting style, a musical term or a dish name often hints at the country it comes from. Play daily, and your knowledge of world culture will grow one question at a time. You may even find a new favourite painter, composer or dish to try at home.
