About Golf Solitaire
Golf Solitaire is short, fast and surprisingly tactical. Seven columns of five cards lie face up, and you play their top cards onto the waste pile, one rank higher or lower than the card already there. Long runs up and down clear the table quickly; when you are stuck, you turn a new card from the stock. Like real golf, the lowest score wins.
How to play Golf Solitaire
- Move the top card of any column onto the waste pile if it is one rank higher or lower than the waste card. Suits do not matter.
- When you are stuck, tap the stock to turn over a new waste card.
- The game ends when the stock is empty and no card can move. Your score is the number of cards left: fewer is better.
- Easy lets kings and aces join up, medium does not, and on hard nothing can be played on a king.
Tips & strategy
- Look for the longest run before you start one: the choice of which card to play first often decides the game.
- Save a card that could link two runs together rather than spending it early.
- Count what is left in the stock; once it is empty, the game ends as soon as you are stuck.
- On hard days nothing can go on a king, so try to play kings when a run would end anyway.

How is the score worked out?
Your score is the number of cards left in the columns when the game ends. Clearing every column scores zero.
Do suits matter?
No. Only the rank counts: any card one higher or one lower than the waste card can be played.
Can an ace go on a king?
Only on easy days, when the ranks wrap round. On medium and hard days aces and kings do not connect.
How is Golf Solitaire ranked?
By the fewest cards left, then by the faster time.
