About Quick Word
Quick Word is the speedy cousin of Daily Word. The hidden word has just four letters and you get five guesses, so a game takes a minute or two. It makes a good warm-up before the bigger puzzles, or a short break in a busy day.
How to play Quick Word
- Type a four-letter word and press Enter. Every guess must be a real word.
- Each letter is marked: ✓ right letter in the right spot, ↔ in the word but in another spot, or not in the word at all.
- Letters can appear more than once. A letter is only marked as many times as it appears in the answer.
- You have five guesses. Fewest guesses wins, then the fastest time.
Tips & strategy
- Most four-letter words hinge on a single vowel, so find it early with a guess such as RAIN or LOUD.
- Think of short, everyday nouns and verbs; long endings such as -ING never fit in four letters.
- If two letters keep moving around, try swapping their order. Many four-letter words are close anagrams.
- With only five guesses, try new letters on every guess until at least two are in place.
Quick Word: questions and answers
How is Quick Word different from Daily Word?
The hidden word has four letters instead of five, and you get five guesses instead of six. The letter hints work the same way.
Is Quick Word the same for everyone?
Yes. Everyone gets the same four-letter word on the same day, and a new one arrives at midnight Mountain Time.
What happens if I run out of guesses?
The game ends and counts as played but not solved. Your daily streak only needs one solved puzzle, so you can try another game.
