Brick Bounce

NewDaily challenge for Oct 31Scores are saved on this device
How to play
  • Move the paddle by dragging on the board, with the mouse, the arrow keys (or A and D) or the on-screen arrows. Launch the ball with Space, the Launch button or a tap on the board.
  • The ball bounces off the walls, the bricks and your paddle. Where it meets the paddle sets its angle: near the middle it goes up steeply, near the ends it flies off to the side.
  • Most bricks break at the first hit; the darker ones need two. A few drop a power-up: catch it for a wider paddle, a slower ball or an extra ball. The ball speeds up a little as you play.
  • You have three balls. Clear the wall to reach the next one. The daily challenge has the same walls and drops for everyone; scores are saved on this device only.

About Brick Bounce

Brick Bounce is the classic paddle and ball game, redrawn for any browser. A wall of coloured bricks hangs at the top of the board, a ball bounces between it and your paddle, and every brick it touches breaks. The skill is in the paddle: where the ball lands on it decides where it flies next, so you can aim at the gaps and send it behind the wall. Dark bricks take two hits, a few drop power-ups, and the ball creeps faster the longer a rally lasts. The daily challenge builds the same walls for everyone; free play makes new ones.

How to play Brick Bounce

  1. Move the paddle by dragging on the board, with the mouse, the arrow keys (or A and D) or the on-screen arrows. Launch the ball with Space, the Launch button or a tap on the board.
  2. The ball bounces off the walls, the bricks and your paddle. Where it meets the paddle sets its angle: near the middle it goes up steeply, near the ends it flies off to the side.
  3. Most bricks break at the first hit; the darker ones need two. A few drop a power-up: catch it for a wider paddle, a slower ball or an extra ball. The ball speeds up a little as you play.
  4. You have three balls. Clear the wall to reach the next one. The daily challenge has the same walls and drops for everyone; scores are saved on this device only.

Tips & strategy

  • Hit the ball with the ends of the paddle to send it out wide, and with the middle to send it straight up.
  • Aim for a gap at the side of the wall. A ball that gets behind the bricks breaks a row from above while you wait.
  • Chase a falling capsule only when the ball is on its way up; losing a ball for a power-up is a bad trade.

Brick Bounce: questions and answers

How do I play on a phone?

Drag your finger anywhere on the board and the paddle follows it. Tap the board or press Launch to send the ball.

What do the power-ups do?

A blue capsule makes the paddle wider for a few seconds, a purple one slows the ball down and a pink one adds an extra ball. Catch them with the paddle.
