About Hill Rider
Hill Rider is a side-on motorbike game about balance and momentum. The track rolls up and down in hills of every size, and your bike is a simple machine of two wheels and a rider. Give it gas to climb, tip it level in the air to land the jumps on both wheels, and pass the flags on the way to the finish. A bad landing on your helmet sends you back to the last flag, and three crashes end the run.
How to play Hill Rider
- Hold Gas to ride forward and Brake to slow down. Keep the wheels on the ground over the bumps.
- In the air, Gas tips the bike back and Brake tips it forward, so you can land on both wheels.
- Controls: the Gas and Brake buttons, the right or left half of the picture, or the right and left arrow keys (D and A). P pauses.
- If the rider’s head touches the ground you restart at the last flag; three crashes end the run. Reach the finish as fast as you can. Scores are saved on this device.
Tips & strategy
- Let go of the gas in the air: landing with the rear wheel spinning flat out tips the bike backwards.
- Brake before big drops rather than on them, so the bike lands level.
- In the air, Gas tips the bike back and Brake tips it forward: use short taps to land level.
- Momentum is everything; a steady speed beats racing from hill to hill.
Hill Rider: questions and answers
What ends a run?
The rider’s head touching the ground, or the bike lying upside down, is a crash and you restart at the last flag. Three crashes end the run; reaching the finish ends it with your time.
How do I lean the bike?
There are no extra buttons: in the air, Gas tips the bike back and Brake tips it forward. On the ground a burst of gas lifts the front wheel a little.
Is the daily track the same for everyone?
Yes. The hills are made from today’s date, so everyone rides the same track. Free play gives a new track every time.
