About Darts 301
Darts 301 puts a full dartboard in your browser, with the real order of numbers, thin double and treble rings and a two-part bull. Count down from 301 three darts at a time and finish exactly on zero with a double, or switch to Around the Clock and hit every number from 1 to 20 and then the bull. Your aim drifts, so timing the throw is the skill.
How to play Darts 301
- Press on the board where you want to aim and hold: the wobbling aim steadies for about a second. Let go to throw. On a phone the aim sits just above your finger.
- Holding too long makes your hand shake again, so let go at the steadiest moment. Keyboard: arrow keys move the aim; hold Space and let go to throw.
- 301: each turn of three darts takes points off 301. Finish exactly on zero with a double; going below zero, or to one, is a bust and the turn does not count.
- Around the Clock: hit 1 to 20 in order, then the bull, in as few darts as you can. Scores are saved on this device.
Tips & strategy
- Aim for treble 20 early on: three of them score 180.
- At 170 or below, the checkout suggestion shows a way to finish in the darts you have left.
- Leave yourself an even number, ideally 32 or 40, so a single miss still leaves a double.
- Hold to steady the aim, but release before your hand starts to shake again.
Darts 301: questions and answers
What is a bust?
Scoring more than you have left, leaving exactly one, or reaching zero without a double. The turn ends and your score goes back to where it was.
Which segments are doubles and trebles?
The thin outer ring doubles a number and the thin inner ring trebles it. The outer bull scores 25 and the bullseye 50, which also counts as a double.
What are checkout suggestions?
For any score you can finish in three darts, the game shows a common way to do it, ending on a double.
Where are my scores kept?
