Plants and Trees looks at how plants make food from sunlight and includes Canada’s provincial trees and flowers. Inventions and Inventors celebrates the people behind everything from the printing press to the World Wide Web, including many Canadian firsts such as insulin treatment, the paint roller and the Robertson screw. Along the way you will meet famous scientists such as Marie Curie, Isaac Newton and Frederick Banting, and learn the stories behind their discoveries.
Every quiz gives you 10 questions a day, arranged from easy to hard, and each answer has a one-sentence explanation so you learn as you play. We write questions in plain language, use metric units and Canadian spelling, and check facts against trusted sources. Where scientists still argue about something, or where a record is likely to be broken, we leave it out or say so clearly.
These quizzes work well for students reviewing for a test, for parents and children playing together, and for anyone who likes to know how the world works. Try one topic a day, read the explanations, and you will build a solid base of science knowledge without opening a textbook.
