About Spot Kick
Spot Kick puts you on a football pitch in real 3D, the ball on the spot and a keeper bouncing on his line. Swipe from the ball towards the goal and let go: the ball flies on a true flight, dips, curls with the spin you gave it, clips the post or the bar, and ripples the net where it lands. The keeper watches your run-up and dives, and he reads you a little better with every kick.
How to play Spot Kick
- Swipe from the ball towards the goal and let go. The direction aims, a longer swipe lifts the ball, a faster one hits it harder, and a curved swipe bends it in the air.
- On a keyboard, the arrow keys aim and lift (dots show the path), A and D curl the ball; hold Space (or the Hold to kick button) for power and let go.
- Ten kicks: five penalties, then five free kicks with a wall that jumps. The keeper reads you a little better every kick. A goal is 100 points; the top bin, a low corner, a curler, a free kick and in off the woodwork score more.
- The daily challenge has the same free kicks, walls and wind for everyone; free play adds wind on the free kicks and easy has none and a slower keeper. Scores stay on this device.
Tips & strategy
- Aim for the top corners. A keeper cannot reach the top bin in time, and it is worth 120 points on top of the goal.
- Swipe length is height: a short swipe keeps the ball low, a long one lifts it. On free kicks you need enough to clear the wall but not the bar.
- Bend your swipe to curl the ball. A swipe that bows out to the left curls the ball right, and the other way; it is the way round the wall.
Spot Kick: questions and answers
How do I kick on a phone?
Put your finger on or near the ball and swipe towards the goal. The direction aims, the length lifts the ball, the speed of the swipe is the power and a curved swipe puts spin on it.
Can I play with a keyboard?
Yes. The arrow keys aim and lift the ball and dots show its path; A and D curl it; hold Space for power and let go to kick.
Why does the ball curl?
Spot Kick works out the flight of a spinning ball in real 3D, with air drag and the Magnus force that bends a free kick in real football, so a curved swipe really does curve the ball.
