About Flags of the World Quiz
Every question in the Flags of the World Quiz shows a flag and four countries, and you pick the one it belongs to. The first flags of the day are the famous ones, like Canada’s maple leaf or Japan’s red disc, and the last ones are the flags that even keen travellers mix up. Colours, stripes and symbols all carry clues: a crescent and star, a Southern Cross, the green, yellow and red of many African flags. Near-identical pairs, such as the flags of Chad and Romania, are left out, and the wrong answers are chosen so that no two look alike, which keeps every question fair.
How to play Flags of the World Quiz
- Press Start for the first of ten questions. The clock starts with it and stops at your last answer.
- Each question shows a flag: pick the country it belongs to from the four answers.
- Tap an answer, or press 1 to 4 (or A to D) on a keyboard. Answers are final: you see the right one and a one-line explanation, then press Next.
- Most correct answers ranks first, then the fastest time. Only a member’s first finished quiz of the day counts for the leaderboard.
Tips & strategy
- Look at the direction of the stripes first: horizontal or vertical often separates two countries with the same colours.
- Symbols narrow it down quickly: a Union Jack in the corner points to the Pacific, a cedar tree to Lebanon, a dragon to Bhutan or Wales.
- Colour families help: red, white and blue is common in Europe, while green, yellow and red often marks a country in Africa.
