About Inventions and Inventors Quiz
Canada gave the world insulin treatment, the paint roller, the Robertson screw and the snowmobile, among many other ideas. The Inventions and Inventors Quiz matches inventions to the people credited with them and asks when and where they appeared, from ancient tools such as the abacus and the sundial to the printing press, the telephone and the World Wide Web. Because many inventions had more than one inventor, every question says who is credited with a carefully worded achievement, and rival claimants are never offered as wrong answers, so the quiz stays fair.

Tips & strategy
- Place the invention in its era first: an ancient tool, an industrial machine and a digital invention each belong to a different century.
- Read the wording closely: “credited with the first practical” is not the same as “invented the idea of”.
- Many Canadian inventions solved northern problems, like snow, cold and long distances, which is a handy clue.
