About Ocean Animals Quiz
Dive from the surface to the deep sea, where the strangest creatures live. The Ocean Animals Quiz covers whales and dolphins, sharks and rays, octopuses, jellyfish, sea stars, corals and the fish of every depth, with plenty from Canada’s three oceans, such as belugas, narwhals and the basking shark. Questions ask how sea animals breathe, hunt, hide and travel, and figures such as the Greenland shark’s great age or the depth a beaked whale can reach were checked against reliable sources. The easy questions start with the biggest and best-known animals of the sea.

Tips & strategy
- Sort the animal first: whales and dolphins are mammals, sharks and rays are fish, and octopuses and squid are molluscs.
- Many sea animals are named for what they look like, but not all are what the name says: a sea horse is a fish, a sea cucumber is an animal.
- Deep-sea animals often glow, have huge eyes or no eyes at all: think about living in the dark.
